Boerne, Texas

Boerne (pronounced "burn-ee") is a charming small town rich in German heritage, nestled in the Texas Hill Country. As the county seat of Kendall County, it offers a convenient location on I-10, just a short drive from San Antonio. While its permanent population is around 15,000, Boerne becomes a bustling hub for tourists during peak season.

Did you know that Cheryl Ladd, the actress from Charlie's Angels, is a Boerne native?

Ludwig Boerne

The town was named in honor of Ludwig Börne, a German poet. Despite the tribute, he never actually saw the town. A bronze statue of him can be found at the Boerne Public Library.

History buffs will appreciate the old county courthouse. Built in 1870 with a front section added in 1909, it's the second-oldest continuously used courthouse in Texas and stands directly across from the new one.
