Grand Prairie, Texas is a vibrant city of about 207,000 people (July 2024 estimate), nestled in the heart of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It stretches across Dallas, Tarrant, and Ellis counties, covering roughly 72 square miles, making it one of the largest north–south cities in the region. Located just 16 miles west of Dallas and 24 miles east of Fort Worth, it’s an ideal gateway to both urban centers .


For sports fans, Grand Prairie offers a weighted lineup—Lone Star Park brings high-stakes horse racing with biannual live meets on its 315-acre grounds and seating for 8,000, while Grand Prairie Stadium has gained national attention as a hub for Major League Cricket and was a site for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It’s also a former home to the Texas AirHogs baseball team and is surrounded by professional-level sports teams from across the metroplex.

On the tourist front, the city is packed with family‑friendly attractions. Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark is an 80,000‑sq‑ft climate‑controlled paradise of water slides, wave pools, and arcades, while Chicken N Pickle combines pickleball, lawn games, and dining. Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Asia Times Square, and the vibrant Farmers Market at Market Square (spring–fall) add a blend of cultural and quirky fun.
